POST NO BILLS

Some people in the city are so clever. This made me smile.

I want to go back to my happy place.

Cuba was incredible and oh so beautiful. We had a wonderful time and found it difficult to leave. The beaches were, in a word, wow! It's as though they were ours and ours alone. Paraíso.

Oh helloooo again.

Wow, I haven't been here in a while. I blame my crazy Olympics fever (woooot Canada!!!), followed closely by Oscars fever (woooot Kathryn Bigelow!!!). Plus life and the farchy Farch blahs getting in the way. Why is it that the end of February and most of March (aka Farch) is always so busy? Not to mention depressing. Blurgh.

So in a few days I'm taking off for some serious fun in the sun in beautiful Cayo Ensenachos, Cuba! To say I'm excited is really an understatement. I'm hoping post some pics from there, in between all the swimming, snorkeling, cycling, reading, napping, drinking mojitos and smoking cigars. And I cannot wait to shoot.

Until I take my own, here are a couple images from the world wide web. Nope, not an ugly place at all.

The Impossible Project ain't so impossible after all.

Eeeeeeep!!! There are no words for the BIG BIG HAPPIES I am feeling right now. But I'll try to spurt some out. I've been waiting with bated breath for the return of Polaroid film for SX-70 instant cameras. And dare I say....it's coming back!! Mid 2010!!!

Thanks to The Impossible Project.

***from the website***

The Impossible Project inspires Polaroid to re-launch Instant Cameras

We are pleased to herewith announce a history making cooperation between Polaroid and The Impossible Project:

As we have created quite some buzz about Analog Instant Photography over the past 12 months, the Polaroid licensee - The Summit Global Group - now can't resist any longer and announced at a press conference on October 13th in Hongkong that they will re-launch some of the most famous Polaroid Instant Cameras.

Therefore they are commissioning The Impossible Project to develop and produce a limited edition of Polaroid branded Instant Films in the middle of 2010.

The Impossible Project is proud and excited that its ambitions and all the relentless work that has already been invested are now becoming the foundation for Polaroid's comeback as a producer of Instant Cameras.

Large-scale production and worldwide sale of The Impossible Project's new integral film materials under its own brand will already start in the beginning of 2010 - with a brand new and astonishing black and white Instant Film and the first colour films to follow in the course of the year.

The German people cheated.

I love this kid so much. Check out her spin on World War 2..er..3. One of my favourite quotes, "And then the Egyptians died cuz all of the sun was making them so hot."
Happy Friday!

Meet Big Bear

This is pretty much the funniest thing I've seen in a while. It must hang above the mantle. My friend Mark is the genius behind it. Jean rocks the bear suit non?

You can dooooo it.

And while I'm at it, if you haven't seen this by now, you're in for a treat.
Enjoy some of this Instant Happy.

Good song too! Bruises, by the band Chairlift.

How could you not love this squirrel face??

I saw this picture yesterday and squealed. Pretty darn cute. A few people have sent it to me so I thought I'd jump on the old bandwagon and post it.

The original Crasher Squirrel photo was taken by Melissa and Jackson Brandts in Banff in late May. The image of the squirrel has gone viral since it appeared on the National Geographic's website on Aug. 7.

You can read the article here.

Meet Irwin. In a word...CUUUUUUUTE.

Cute dog. Cute name. Cute legs. Cute bum. Cute eyes. Cute ears. Cute everything.

My landlord's brother has the yummiest dog, Irwin. Sometimes he has sleepovers at his auntie's house. Which means I'm the lucky lady living downstairs who gets to visit/borrow him and shower him with love. He reminds me of another super cute and amazing dog, Face.

He's even cute when he's peeing on the arugula.

Kisses kisses kisses.

This is back in Oaxaca when we first rescued Face. She's around five weeks old here. Her and Irwin could be siblings.

Seriously! Awwwww.

Then she got bigger, stronger, and...er....crazier. But we loved her just the same, bite marks, scratches, ripped clothes and all.

We recently got an update about Face. She's doing really well and living happily in a village in the Oaxacan mountains with the vet's sister and her family. A happy ending indeed.

Did someone say Instant Happy?

I'm behind in my blogging but I'm hoping to get up to date soooooon so please check back next week.

For now, I must share another Instant Happy video. I think it could be a regular thing...every Friday I'm going to post a video that is guaranteed to make you smile.

I wish I could have photographed this wedding. I'm sure it was a blast. How freaking fantastic is this couple? Love them. So much. Why be serious and traditional when you can be funny and original? More weddings (especially the ceremonies) need to be like this. And who doesn't love a dance routine?!

Happy Weekend!

Kittens! Inspired by kittens!

I feel like it's time for some Instant Happy! Here's one of my favourite videos. I can't get enough of it. This girl and her commentary can right any wrong.

Happy Weekend!

LOL kittehs and comments go a long way too.

I Can Has Cheezburger? is another site that will definitely help improve any crappy day, if only for a brief moment. Jenn, thank you for turning me on to this. I can't believe I went so long without it.

Here's a sample of the funny:

Sometimes a little panda bum is all it takes.

Whenever I'm in need of cheering up I head on over to Cute Overload. You're guaranteed to find instant happy, like this adorably cute baby panda here. Can you stand it?! That little bum had me at hello.
