One for One

I am the proud new owner of TOMS shoes. They are amazing and I'm recommending them to anyone and everyone. In fact, I'm going to buy a second pair that's how much I love them and the movement behind them.

For every pair of TOMS shoes purchased, a pair is given to a child in need. One for One. TOMS plans to give over 300,000 pairs of shoes to children in need around the world in 2009. WOW!! How great is it to be able to buy a pair of shoes without any guilt? They are comfortable, affordable and stylish. And the fact that you are actually helping a child with your purchase makes me feel all warm inside. This is what business should be about. Giving back. The incredible guy who started it all, Blake Mycoskie, is truly inspirational. Read up about him here.

And, it even gets better. TOMS are made with 77% Hemp and 23% Recycled Plastic Bottles! They don't even come in a shoe box, just a canvas bag. Hemp is one of the strongest natural fibers in the world and grown easily without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. It's also naturally anti-microbial, which I didn't know, so your feet can b r e a t h e and not get stinky. Very important in summer.

I bought mine from my most favourite shoe store in Toronto, Heel Boy for $55!

Check out this video and just try to resist buying a pair...or two:

  1. ummm shutuppayouface! I didn't know that they were also CUUUUTE! Which ones did you get?

I want these: ok never mind, your stupid blog doesn't let me post links in here. wtf.

  2. My stupid blog doesn't like links eh? Hmm...I'll look into that.

Let me try to post the link to the super cute TOMS you want:

  3. Yeah, I guess it just doesn't activate the link in the comment box. I shall try to rectify this situation to enhance your blog pleasure.

Ooooh, I love the ones you want. Great colours. I got me a pair of moss green ones. I have my eye on a yellow pair too. But a cool design would be fun too. Oh the choices!

Also...I just found out they have TOMS with fleece lining and suede exterior!!! It's the perfect slipper! Check it out:

  4. Er...I don't think it links to the actual photo. They're the chestnut fleece pair. Go look!
