I am the proud new owner of TOMS shoes. They are amazing and I'm recommending them to anyone and everyone. In fact, I'm going to buy a second pair that's how much I love them and the movement behind them.
For every pair of TOMS shoes purchased, a pair is given to a child in need. One for One. TOMS plans to give over 300,000 pairs of shoes to children in need around the world in 2009. WOW!! How great is it to be able to buy a pair of shoes without any guilt? They are comfortable, affordable and stylish. And the fact that you are actually helping a child with your purchase makes me feel all warm inside. This is what business should be about. Giving back. The incredible guy who started it all, Blake Mycoskie, is truly inspirational. Read up about him here.
And, it even gets better. TOMS are made with 77% Hemp and 23% Recycled Plastic Bottles! They don't even come in a shoe box, just a canvas bag. Hemp is one of the strongest natural fibers in the world and grown easily without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. It's also naturally anti-microbial, which I didn't know, so your feet can b r e a t h e and not get stinky. Very important in summer.
I bought mine from my most favourite shoe store in Toronto, Heel Boy for $55!
